The pace of development of AI is very fast, although inevitably there's a lag between tech labs and the real-world tools. How important do you think it is to have a national(/international) conversation - amongst wider society as well as the business community - about the medium and long-term implications of this technology? How would you rate the Government's response so far? What do you think they should be doing?
This is another issue that I think deserves more attention than it's getting. There's a wall of AI coverage in the media and the UK Government is certainly working on many (mainly) internal AI initiatives, but an open forum where we can all air our views and concerns seems not to exist elsewhere. Usual forum rules of engagement apply (see above) but I'd be very interested to get a consensus. Do you think we're heading for nothing but sunny uplands, or are we doomed?!
